"The Night Life of the Gods" is a humorous novel set in an English family home. Mr. Alfred Pollard Lambert had lost his wife's fortune in a series of business misadventures. This fact had left him no choice but to find refuge for him and his dependents, in the previously tranquil home of his brother-in-law Hunter Hawk. But now the rest of the family is on their last nerves due to his constant experiments that frequently end up in explosions. Matters come to a head when after one such explosion the family decides to confront Hunter about the noise that is the talk of the community. But as they go into the lab, they are surprised by what they find, and what Hunter tells his niece Daffy…
