"The Calendar" by Edgar Wallace is a thriller novel. The tale follows a racehorse owner who impulsively agrees to throw a race and has to deal with the consequences of his decision. What follows is a psychological game of cat and mouse, unlike what anyone could have expected. The lives of his horses aren't all that hangs in the balance as he learns that, in the racing world, winning and losing mean much more than they appear to.
