Description of the book

Sir Hugh Seymour Walpole was an English novelist. He was the son of an Anglican clergyman, intended for a career in the church but drawn instead to writing, though he never lost the morality and values of his life in the church. In this novel, a sadist with an overbearing ego and a sense of power wreaks havoc on the life of his grandson and daughter. Terrorized by his ire, they're pushed to their limits until they're finally forced to make a drastic decision to escape.
