A Gent from Bear Creek

A Gent from Bear Creek

Description of the book

This is a collection of stories that are written with humour as if told by Breckinridge Elkins, an uneducated mountain man. He and his relatives live in the Humboldt Mountains in Nevada. Elkins is six feet tall, strong as a grizzly bear and can be just as short-tempered if he gets angry. And there are many things that make him angry, especially his relatives. When he gets angry he prefers to use his fists, his feet, his teeth, and when he attacks nobody really dies, but he does create some havoc. Elkins is the only man strong enough to ride the giant, fighting horse, Cap'n Kidd. Glory McGraw (a local girl) is sometimes his love interest, but he is too ignorant to realise it.
